Friends and Fire Trucks

This weekend we celebrated Owen's third birthday with a fire truck theme.  We went to a local fire station where the kids explored the trucks, toured the station and learned a lot. They were all so well-behaved and seemed to have a great time.

Then, we came back to the house for chili, crazy hot dogs, cake and ice cream.

It was such a beautiful (windy) Fall day that the kids were even able to run around outside for a bit. 

They didn't care about the decorations or lopsided cake, or that some of the kids didn't know each other.  It is neat to see how quickly kids become friends!

Owen's favorite part of the day was touring the fire station and driving the truck.  Mine was seeing the excitement in his eyes and looking around at all the wonderful people we are blessed to call friends.
