Labor Day

I love Labor Day weekend for three reasons: it is the last hurrah of summertime, the first glimpse of my favorite season, and it is a long weekend.  This year, we planned to go back to Pittsburgh so that I could celebrate a dear friend's baby shower.  Cara and her husband Josh have been on quite a journey of faith and have come out on the other side.  We are so excited for their new arrival in October and know how blessed this baby is to have such incredible parents.

The rest of the weekend was filled with sister time, making ice cream and enjoying the nearby splash pad:

We also took Louisa and Owen to Idewild Park and they loved it. Despite the awful heat and humidity (and no naps) they were both wonderful and had a blast.

Owen bravely rode his first roller coaster ride with Mark, Uncle Andy and Louisa.  He didn't know until it started, and he still loved it!

Mark took Owen to the Camp Lambec Reunion Picnic to see his camp buddies.  They had a wonderful time.

And, William and Nora got to meet Aunt Geri and Uncle Steve who were in from Florida.

Time spent with family and friends: what a wonderful way to end summer and start a new season!
